How I Beat Rising Food Prices

Inflation in the UK remained higher than target at the last inflation rate check partly due to high food prices.

Dear Fellow Financial Freedom Seeker,

Inflation in the UK remained higher than target at the last inflation rate check partly due to high food prices. This is a global phenomenon.

Grocery stores are actually designed to make us spend our money. You can read about it here if you’re interested in retail store layout psychology

So are the discounted prices and bundled prices they advertise.

With the literal layout of the stores designed to make us spend more it can feel like a losing battle simply trying to buy food.

The truth is there are several ways to spend less on your grocery bill, but as this newsletter is all about ONE simple step…

Your One Simple Step this week is to

Go Shopping WIth A Shopping List

A shopping list gives you a few advantages.

  1. You can optimise your food shopping list so you’re bulk producing meals and making the most out of your meals with the least ingredients

  2. This also enables you to make your lunches in bulk so you save money buying food out when you’re going to the office

  3. By having a shopping list you go into the store focussed on getting what you need to so you’re less likely to get distracted by the psychological game the layout plays

  4. Getting everything you need in one go means you don’t need to go to more expensive local shops (have you ever noticed the price difference between Tesco Express and Tesco Extra?!) during the week because there’s an ingredient you need but don’t have at home

Do you have any other hacks to save money on your food shop?

Til next week,
